Now that I've been living at home for the past month I've had a lot of time to sit around and home and discover things I've never noticed or seen before. I'll have little epiphanies where I'll see something and questions "has that been there my whole life or for a long time?" Here are a few of those things:
This little extra indent of roof seen from our backyard.
This "love bird" fence hanging thing above the backyard bench.
Multiple rocks saying "REMEMBER" in my moms garden.
About once every 4 years I remember to notice this hole in our family room ceiling. When we remodeled the house my parents had every intention of getting a wood
burning stove. Fifteen years later and still no stove!...someday!
This light next to the front door.
Soda sharing shelf space with V8 Juice? That's a Shipley oxi-moron! This can be found not in the main house fridge, but the reject fridge in the garage.
How close the sprinkler controls are to the mailbox. Never noticed it there before.
"Oh yeah! We have a balcony!"
This mystery awkwardly placed "storage" door? Never been opened and too scared to.
This crocodile thing on the upper shelf of my dad's office.
That both my elementary school AND high school can be seen from the second floor of the house. How many people can say that??
My mom's quilting bible intermixed with a shelf full of quilts.
My mom's walk in closet. While of course I've known that its been there forever, I forget and then remember that I've honestly only been in there probably once in my life. Not that I have a need to...BUT...this is where we were threatened to never look because birthday/christmas presents were always crammed in there yearlong...or so we were told...
This rock that my brother drew a design on. Sitting on the shelf right next to the tv. Never noticed it. It says 1998 on the bottom.
EPIC! This is something I've ALWAYS known has been there. My brother Scott and I had an epic spit wad war circa 1995. This spit wad on the ceiling in the living room is the final evidence of that fight. Long may it live as a reminder of things kids get away with when their parents aren't home...
