The final week!
I'm behind with bloggin' so I've gotta catch up with the final week of EFY. The final week was bittersweet because it was the end of the summer, but I was super tired from the entire summer so semi-excited for it to end. But I knew I would probably never get a chance to be a counselor again so I wanted to make it a great last week. Thus, the word of the week which I told the youth would be: Epic! Everything during the week was going to be EPIC. So whenever a kid was asked how their week was going, the proper response would be EPIC.
And it was.
It was the largest EFY session in all EFY's throughout the world. Some groups had up to six counselors!? That's crazy. My group only had three, two groups of boys and one of girls. So obviously the boys were bummed about that, but the girls were stoked. It was difficult at first to mold the entire group together, but in the end it was...epic.
It rained a ton this week. And game night was ruined and demolished to inside games and crowded rooms. But everyone still had fun and made the best of it.
These girls were never on time to anything.
Squeeze breeze!
My final group of ten boys were fantastic. They all became friends and by the end didn't want to leave the group, which is what always happens of course.
EFY was a great experience. Super exhausting but ultimately great. I learned a lot, made a ton of friends, and realized I am no longer in the rising generation of the church, but that that torch has been passed. And it was amazing to get to meet that rising generation firsthand and get to work with them and hopefully teach them something. Because they taught me a whole lot.
EFY was epic.
